My experience with the Ophthalmology Foundation examinations was excellent and highly rewarding. The Visual Science, Optics & Refraction exam at Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital in Iraq was conducted with a high level of professionalism, organization, and academic rigor. I was particularly impressed by the quality and precision of the assessment process. The online examination was well structured, and the questions were carefully designed to evaluate both theoretical knowledge and clinical understanding. Together with the examination center assessments, the process provided a comprehensive, fair, and reliable evaluation of candidates’ competencies. I am proud to have achieved very good results in these examinations, especially considering that this was the first time the examination had been conducted in Iraq. As the sole candidate sitting the examination at the center, I greatly appreciated the attention given to ensuring a smooth and professional experience. Despite the severe stormy weather and heavy rainfall on the examination day, the center delivered an outstanding experience without any disruption and internet connectivity remained stable throughout, demonstrating remarkable preparation and commitment. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr. Tara Rasheed for her outstanding coordination, encouragement, and support throughout the examination process. Her professionalism and positive attitude created a welcoming and motivating environment. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ms. Vicky Glossop for her patience, kindness, and continuous support in responding to my many questions and inquiries throughout the preparation and examination period. Her assistance was greatly appreciated. Finally, I would like to thank the entire Ophthalmology Foundation team for their dedication to maintaining high standards in ophthalmic education and assessment. This experience has further motivated me to continue my journey with the Foundation, and I look forward to undertaking the Clinical Examination in pursuit of achieving the FIOF.
