APAO 2026

February 2026, Hong Kong

At tht Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress, our symposium, Advancing Teaching Skills and Ophthalmic Education Around the World, led by Dr. Gabriela Palis, brought together passionate educators committed to strengthening how we teach and learn across the profession. We were also proud to host a dynamic Speed Mentoring session, led by Drs. Helena Prior Filipe and Muhammad Moin—connecting emerging ophthalmologists with experienced mentors across subspecialties.

AIOC 2026

March 2026, Jaipur, India

Dr. Prashant Garg chaired the the Ophthalmology Foundation’s symposium, Simulation-Based Education for Cataract and Anterior Segment of Surgical Training at the All India Ophthalmological Society. Speakers shared techniques for increasing patient safety and improve practical skills. Our team also had a fantastic time at the Ophthalmology Foundation booth connecting with colleagues, partners, and attendees from across the ophthalmology community. It was wonderful to share ideas, exchange experiences, and celebrate the passion that brings us all together in advancing eye care.

PAAO Regional 2026

March 2026, Santiago, Chile


At the 28th Pan-American Regional Ophthalmology Course and the 30th Chilean Ophthalmology Congress, Drs. Helena Prior Filipe and Gabriela Palis led a Medical Education symposium on professional development in ophthalmology, interactive teaching strategies, the impact of AI on critical thinking, teaching the basics of optical physics, and collaborative learning in ophthalmology.

Additionally, Dr. Kenneth Johnson Calgano from Chile gave a talk at the Young Ophthalmologists meeting about his experience completing an IOFF-OF Subspecialty Fellowship Program in Neuro-Ophthalmology in the United Kingdom. We thank Dr. Calgano for inspiring young ophthalmologists to pursue advanced training.
