Please join us in congratulating OF Vice President Dr. Bruce Spivey MD, MS, MEd, on his re-election as IAPB’s Group C Trustee.
Dr. Spivey will play a vital role in upholding IAPB’s vision, mission and values, ensuring that both the organization and its representatives align with these principles. Trustees are responsible for maintaining IAPB’s relevance.
Dr. Spivey previously served on the IAPB Board between 2003-2013 and was elected as a Group C Trustee in 2023. His distinguished record also encompasses serving a 20-year leadership role of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO), including the position of President between 2006-2014. Trained as an ophthalmologist and medical educator, he has worked extensively to enhance ophthalmic education and eye care globally. Dr. Spivey’s contributions span the ophthalmology profession from educator, clinician, hospital CEO, ophthalmology department chair, and as medical society executive leadership to transformational professional leader.
