With our March 2026 examinations just around the corner, the Ophthalmology Foundation Examinations Team is pleased to share several important updates with you.
Registration Deadline – March 2026 Examination
Registration for the 25 March 2026 examination closes on 31 January 2026.
We encourage all candidates to submit their applications as early as possible.
September 2026 Examination
We are pleased to confirm that next year’s September examination will take place on 30 September 2026.
Registration will open on 1 February 2026 and close in July 2026.
Three Part Payment Plan
We are happy to inform you that we now offer a 3-month payment plan to make it easier for candidates to complete their registration. This flexible option allows you to pay your exam fees in three equal monthly installments — ensuring you don’t miss the opportunity to take part in this session.
To take advantage of the payment plan, simply log in to your account and select the 3-Month Payment Plan option on the payment page.
COECSA Partnership
The Ophthalmology Foundation has partnered with COECSA to jointly deliver the Visual Sciences and Optics, Refraction & Instruments examinations across the region. This collaboration strengthens our shared commitment to accessible, high-quality ophthalmic training.

Our new series of regional Q&A webinars has now launched, offering candidates the opportunity to ask questions and receive information tailored to their location. We have successfully delivered sessions with various teams globally, and more are planned.

Become a Host Center
With preparations underway for our March 2026 examination, we are currently seeking new locations to host exams around the world. Hosting an examination is a valuable way to support ophthalmic education and training in your region. Doctors who host our examinations will also receive the Honorary FIOF Certificate in recognition of their contribution.
