ASCRS 2025
The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) takes place 25-28 April 2025 in Los Angeles, California, USA. The Ophthalmology Foundation will lead the course, Simulation-Based Education (SBE) in Ophthalmology on Sunday, 27 April, 3:30-5:00 PM, LACC 518 (session #IC-231). During this course, participants will learn different aspects of SBE including the best practices for adopting it for cataract and refractive surgery training, simulators available in the market, and share personal experiences.
EOS 2025
The International Congress of the Egyptian Ophthalmological Society 2025, in collaboration with the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO), will be held 7-9 May 2025 in Cairo, Egypt. The Ophthalmology Foundation will hold an education session on 7 May, 2:30-3:30 PM in Hall C (Abdeen). Participants will learn more about Ophthalmology Foundation programs designed to enhance ophthalmic education and improve lecture skills.
PAAO 2025
Visit the Ophthalmology Foundation at booth #P1-12 during the 36th Pan-American Congress of Ophthalmology (PAAO) 30 May – 2 June 2025 in Bogota, Colombia. Attend the symposium, Empowering Clinical Educators: Strategies for Effective Teaching in Ophthalmology. A Symposium by the Ophthalmology Foundation on 2 June 2025, 11am – 12:30 PM in room 2. Ophthalmology educators will become equipped with practical strategies and evidence-based approaches in active learning and the case of problem-based learning, social learning, curriculum design, and simulation-based education.
SOE 2025
The European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) Congress is 7-9 June 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal. The Ophthalmology Foundation will lead a session, Assuring Competent Ophthalmologists for the Future, 7 June, 8:00-9:30 AM, Hall 3B. Explore the latest European Training Requirements (ETR) in ophthalmology, accreditation, and competency-based models. Participants will dive into innovative adult learning principles, types of available exams and discover how accrediting of educational centers can elevate the quality and impact of resident training.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting takes place 17-20 October 2025, in Orlando, USA. The Ophthalmology Foundation will host an interactive symposium, Application of online tools to increase interactivity and constructive collaboration in ophthalmology education on Friday, 17 October, 1:30-4:30 PM. This symposium explores the application of online tools to enhance interactivity and constructive collaboration in ophthalmology education.
