GOS 2025
The 4th Global Ophthalmology Summit (GOS) will be held 15-17 August in Chicago, USA. This year’s Summit will explore “Policy, Advocacy, and Action.” Join your colleagues to learn from one another, build networks, and explore collaborations to further enhance global eye care. Representatives from the Ophthalmology Foundation attending are Faculty Development Committee Chair, Dr. Karl Golnik, and board members Dr. Hugh Taylor, Melbourne University, and Dr. Ciku Mathenge, Rwanda International Institute of Ophthalmology.

COECSA 2025
Attend the 12th annual College of Ophthalmology of Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa (COECSA) Congress 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 20-22 August 2025. The Ophthalmology Foundation will hold an all-day Leaders in Education course, Ophthalmic Educators Train the Trainers, on 20 August. At the completion of this workshop the participant should be able to: describe the importance of administering quality examinations as a key training assessment tool; write good MCQ items; review MCQ items; and discuss the rationale for examination Standard Setting procedures.

AMEE 2025
Attend the The International Association for Health Professions Education (AMEE) meeting 23-27 August 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. The first OF session will be Monday, 25 August from 9:00-10:30 AM on CPD in the workplace: how to connect formal and informal learning? This talk will launch discussions to better understand how formal and informal learning intersect is essential to optimizing and improving CPD strategies that can effectively translate knowledge and skills into real-world clinical practice. Later, Dr. Helena Prior Filipe will join the panel, MEP Workshop – MedEdPublish Secrets Revealed: Thriving as Both Author and Reviewer on Monday, 25 August from 2:00-3:00 PM.

CBO 2025
The 69th annual Brazilian Ophthalmology Congress in Curitiba, Brazil, 27-30, August 2025. The Ophthalmology Foundation will hold a half-day pre-conference, EPAs and Competency Based Education, pre-Congress event on 26 August 2025, 2:00 -6:00 PM. More information coming soon.

YOSICON 2025
The Young Ophthalmologists Society of India (YOSI) meeting will be held 5-7 September in Dehli, India. Stop by the Ophthalmology Foundation booth to learn about examinations and fellowships and get your questions answered.

ESCRS 2025
The 43rd Congress of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) takes place 12-16 September 2025, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Join the Ophthalmology Foundation symposium Teaching Smarter, Not Harder: Rapid-Fire Pearls for Teaching Cataract and Refractive Surgery in the OR, Sim Lab, and Beyond on Monday, 15 September 2025, 10:30 -12:00 PM, Hall B3-M1. In this livable case-based symposium, five experienced surgeon-educators will deliver rapid-fire presentations packed with practical pearls for teaching cataract and refractive surgery across multiple settings, including the operating room, simulation learning environments, and other didactic settings.

The German Society of Ophthalmology (DOG) Congress will be held 25 – 28 September in Berlin, Germany. This meeting unites more than 8.000 ophthalmologists in hospitals, medical and research units. EVER is the leading ophthalmological research association in Europe which covers all areas of ophthalmology and the visual sciences. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting takes place 17-20 October 2025, in Orlando, USA.
